Setting socio-economic targets: Practical guidance for employers

Setting socio-economic targets: Practical guidance for employers

45-minute webinar: Wednesday 23 April, 12 midday-12.45pm

The Bridge Group is offering a series of free, on-line webinars, offering practical guidance for organisations that want to build socio-economic diversity and inclusion in their workforce.

Join us for the third webinar in the series, for a practical session that looks at setting targets for socio-economic diversity in the workforce. Targets are an important means of demonstrating commitment to driving equality in the workplace, being accountable for change, and ensuring transparency on progress.

We will be answering the following questions:

  • What is the business case for greater diversity by socio-economic background (SEB)?

  • Why should we set socio-economic targets?

  • How do we use data to set stretching but feasible targets?

  • Why do we need to look both internally and externally in this process?

  • How do we create action plans that will achieve the change required?

  • Why should we make our targets public and how do we monitor progress?

  • What next? (details of upcoming webinars from the Bridge Group)

Our experts

Nik Miller, Bridge Group CEO, will answer the above questions alongside our guest speaker, Uzma Hamid-Dizier, Director of Responsible Business at Slaughter and May. Uzma will be talking about Slaughter and May’s experience as the first major British law firm to publish social mobility targets, underpinned by extensive data analysis and supported by a comprehensive action plan.
